ABOUT US
Founded in early 2014, Harrow United delivers professional football coaching and development for children of every age and ability.
Working in partnership with local schools, universities, councils, the FA, and the Harrow Youth Football League, our mission is to make a meaningful difference to the lives and well-being of local children, their families, and the community.
We achieve this by embracing diversity, celebrating cultural differences, and offering both competitive and social football sessions for participants of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels.
Our success is driven by an outstanding team of staff – highly qualified, DBS-checked, and trained in emergency first aid and safeguarding. The coaching team includes local schoolteachers, university students pursuing sports-teaching careers, and fully FA-licensed coaches, all dedicated to providing a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our philosophy focuses on teaching our players the core values of football by developing their technical, physical, social, and psychological skills. Every player who wears a Harrow United shirt is taught to approach training and matches with humility, positivity and a commitment to personal development.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to provide a safe, inclusive environment where children and young adults of all abilities and backgrounds can play football, stay active, have fun, and build lifelong friendships. We’re committed to developing players through professional, academy-style coaching—with the aspiration of helping them reach the highest level possible.
OUR VISION
Our vision is to establish Harrow United as a leading grassroots football club in Middlesex and beyond. We aim to expand our academy and first team pathways, invest in top-class facilities, and grow our outreach across schools and the wider community, becoming a recognised centre for football education and coaching development.
Meet The Team
Harrow United coaches are among the most enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and caring in the game. Chosen for their genuine passion for working with children, our coaches excel at building rapport, making meaningful connections, and understanding the individual needs of every player, both on and off the pitch.
A passion for football and developing children are the common themes that all the staff at Harrow United share. Our goal is to provide a structured, professional, and nurturing environment where children feel supported, build confidence, take risks, and grow—on the field and beyond. It’s this passion and care that make Harrow United truly special.

Hi, my name is Mel and I look after the welfare of the team and the day to day running of the club. I love children and I'm really passionate about helping them to have the best possible start in life, both through their education but just as importantly by being active and healthy.

My name is Mentesh and I am the co-founder and Director of Harrow United. I have been playing and coaching various sports such as football, cricket, tennis, squash and golf for almost 40 years! I played football to a high amateur standard, representing Middlesex County Schools and captaining Enfield Rangers to successive county cup success. I am very fortunate to have such a talented team of coaches who are highly qualified, dedicated and passionate. My aim is to help – that’s what Harrow United FC is all about.

Although I have a wealth of experience across all the age groups, I really enjoy my role at Harrow United which is largely to oversee the development of our youngest talent, starting with our Little Shooters. I get a huge sense of pride when I am able to help develop those young boys and girls and support them on their journey into youth football, and up through the Harrow United age groups, having a lot of fun along the way. My day job is as Head of PE at Claremont High School, and in my spare time I still enjoy playing football, despite my bad knees and aging body, I’m captain of the Harrow United adults team.

I've always believed that the soul of any great football club lies in its youth development. The academy represents hope, ambition, and the club’s philosophy in its purest form. Watching young talents rise through the ranks, from progressing into playing in local academies to wearing the senior team’s colours, fills me with a sense of pride that is unmatched. I dedicated myself to following the youth teams, and understanding the process that turns raw potential into world-class talent. The patience, dedication, and belief in youth development are what truly separate great clubs from the rest. I witnessed firsthand how a club could shape a young player’s career, instilling not only technical skills but values of teamwork, resilience, and humility.

As a passionate football coach and P.E. teacher, I am dedicated to developing young players and young adults into well-rounded individuals both on and off the pitch. My playing journey began with Larkspur Rovers, Hanwell Town, and Ealing district teams. Those experiences shaped my understanding of the game and the values it instills—discipline, resilience, and teamwork. Football isn’t just a profession or hobby for me—it’s a lifelong passion. The game has given me so much, and I strive to pass that on to the next generation. Whether on the training ground or in the classroom, I aim to inspire young athletes, helping them grow in confidence, develop character, and embrace the love of the sport.

I started my coaching journey with Harrow United 2 years ago, however despite the short time frame, I have gained a vast amount of experience. Playing and following football since a young age has helped me understand the game and aid me in planning sessions to help the next generation of players to have a passion for the beautiful game. Having coached a range of age groups during my time here ,it has given me a huge sense of pride seeing the players will to learn and to aid in their development in becoming excellent footballers. Take a look at our club’s timeline

Founded in 2014, Harrow United began as Harrow Games, offering fun, inclusive training camps and sessions across a variety of sports for children of all abilities.

Our journey into Sunday League football began with our very first U7 and U9 teams, led by Coach Luke and Coach Men.

Our first club sponsor marked the beginning of an exciting new era and the birth of our now-iconic yellow kits.

By our fourth year, the club had experienced tremendous growth, fielding six competitive teams and welcoming many more children to our social coaching sessions.

Aside from Harrow United being a hub for children to enjoy their football, we offer sport for all our parents! We host netball for mum's every Wednesday as well football for dad's on Monday nights, promoting sport and community for all.

During lockdown, Harrow United coaches kept the spirit alive by filming weekly content and running online sessions every Saturday morning, helping our players stay active, connected, and engaged while at home.

The 2-metre distancing and six-per-group rules made for unusual times, but nothing beat seeing the kids back outside, socialising, playing football, and enjoying the game once again.

Our 3x Premier Division champions are invited to Nationals where they have an incredible tournament finishing as runners up in all of England.

Harrow United provides a clear pathway to midweek U18 football for our most promising players. Through our partnership with Brook House FC, talented individuals have the opportunity to play under the lights in a floodlit stadium, the ideal platform for aspiring footballers aiming to progress in the game.

In 2023, we launched our First Team—creating a clear pathway for Harrow United players beyond U18's football. Competing in the Middlesex County Division 1, we play our matches on Saturday afternoons.

We’re proud to have established links with professional clubs including Arsenal, QPR, and Reading, providing valuable opportunities and inspiration for our players.

2024 marked 10 years of Harrow United. Over the past decade, the club has experienced remarkable growth, and as we look ahead, we’re full of ambition and ready to take Harrow United to the next level in the years to come.
